Imagevideo pumpe Kiel

HAW Kiel | 2025
Director | Editor

PROJECT
This project was created as part of the Corporate Video in Public Relations module within the Multimedia Production program at HAW Kiel. The assignment was to create a one-minute corporate video for an institution listed on kulturfinder.sh, incorporating an animated title, self-produced photography and a filmed interview.

Our team chose pumpe, a cultural and community center in Kiel that has been promoting culture and communication since 1979. With its diverse program of concerts, parties, readings, cinema screenings, dance classes and other events, pumpe offers a space for cultural exchange and participation.

Our goal was to communicate this diversity through the video and present pumpe as an open place for cultural connection and encounter. Through match cuts and dynamic camera movements, we visualize the transformation from empty spaces into lively cultural environments, emphasizing the people and activities that bring the venue to life.

MY CONTRIBUTION
As Director, I was responsible for the conceptual planning and creative direction of the video, as well as conducting the interviews. As Editor, I edited the final film and created the animated logo sequence in Adobe After Effects.

Making of Railing of the Pristine

HAW Kiel | 2024
Director | Editor

PROJECT
This project was created as part of the Live TV & Streaming Production module within the Multimedia Production degree program at HAW Kiel. The overarching objective of the module was to plan and produce a live television show exploring the work and artistic approach of filmmaker Maya Deren, broadcast through Offener Kanal Kiel, a local public-access television station.

As part of the show, different student departments produced a short film inspired by Deren’s experimental filmmaking style and approach to visual storytelling. My EB team and I were responsible for producing a making-of feature about the resulting short film, Railing of the Pristine.

The feature was produced under editorial requirements set by the editorial department. The making-of had to be presented entirely in grayscale and could not include an interview with the film’s director, as he was scheduled to appear as a guest on the show.

Since the director could not be interviewed, I chose to place the lead actor’s perspective at the center of the making-of. Rather than focusing primarily on how the story itself was created, the feature explores the character, the actor’s experience of portraying them and their journey throughout the film.

MY CONTRIBUTION
As MAZ Editor and Director, I was responsible for the editorial concept and production of the feature. This included developing the editorial approach, conducting on-set interviews, directing the production, and editing the final contribution within the given runtime and format constraints.

News Feature Kieler Woche

HAW Kiel | 2024
Director | Editor

PROJECT
This project was created as part of the Audiovisual News Media module within the Multimedia Production program at HAW Kiel. The assignment was to produce a news feature during Kieler Woche, a major summer festival in northern Germany, as part of a three-person team.

Our feature follows Jörn Klaas, a stilt performer who has been entertaining audiences at Kieler Woche for many years. The production took place over two separate shooting days. The first focused on capturing footage before and during his performance, as well as vox pops with festival visitors. The second was dedicated to a separate interview with the artist.

The final piece combines observational footage, interviews and voice-over to introduce the artist and give viewers an insight into his work and his long-standing connection to the festival.

MY CONTRIBUTION
As Lead Editorial / Director, I was responsible for the conceptual planning and production of the feature, as well as conducting the interviews. I also contributed to the editing and provided the voice-over for the final piece.

Short Film Umbra Noctis

HAW Kiel | 2024
Director | Editor | Make-Up & Costume

PROJECT
This project was created as part of the Audio and Video Production II module within the Multimedia Production program at HAW Kiel. The assignment was to develop and produce a five-minute short film in a small team, based on a freely chosen genre. The central requirement was that the relationship between two characters had to be fundamentally changed by a secret.

Set within the horror genre, Umbra Noctis follows a young woman trapped in a toxic relationship. When a cursed pocket watch enters her life, it becomes the supernatural embodiment of the destructive impact her partner’s betrayal has on her.

The film uses its supernatural elements to blur the line between reality, memory, and fear. A cursed pocket watch serves as a recurring motif, while ghostly visions reveal the fate of a woman who was betrayed and murdered. Her story mirrors the protagonist’s own situation, turning the supernatural into a reflection of her fears and the destructive consequences of betrayal.

MY CONTRIBUTION
I was involved in the project as co-writer and director, contributing to the development of the story and its visual realization.
I was also responsible for the film’s make-up and costume design, helping establish the characters‘ appearances and their visual progression throughout the story. A particular focus was the cracked, deteriorating makeup of the figures appearing in the protagonist’s ghostly visions, designed to give them an unsettling and otherworldly appearance.
